Dip. Acupuncture; Post grad. Toyohari Japanese Acupuncture; MNZRA; ACC Reg
I came from a long line of family members involved with medicine and healing. My great grandfather and grandfather were the first pathologists in Christchurch, who were instrumental in the setting up of the pathology laboratories, including the first blood testing clinics. My father works as a general practitioner, acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist. My mother is a trained physiotherapist, specializing in working with people with physical disabilities. One of my brothers is also a general practitioner, and one sister is in the nursing profession.
Despite my exposure to the medical and healing traditions, my own journey began in a different direction. I worked and travelled with my training as a chef in the hospitality industry, which took me though New Zealand, Australia, Asia and Africa. My desire to deepen my understanding of healing led me to explore a variety of healing modalities, and was most impressed by the efficacy and thorough methodologies that is embraced by the Toyohari system. The feedback response allows the practitioner to constantly monitor the process and adjust the treatment accordingly.
I am very involved in the Toyohari association and participate in monthly meetings and global trainings organised by the International Toyohari Association.
